FAITH UNITED CHURCH OF CHRIST

Green Compass financed, installed, and maintains green infrastructure at no cost to Faith United Church of Christ. The green infrastructure treats 890,000 gallons of water annually by capturing stormwater runoff from a parking lot before passing it through an engineered soil filter. This project includes installing and maintaining 43 trees and a 2,000 sq ft rain garden with 520 plants. The selection of native trees, shrubs, and grasses features 21 diverse species like cypress, oak, elms, switchgrass, bayberry, and phlox. Over the next twelve years, this initiative is expected to create a total net present value of $2,100,000 in ecosystem services, providing tangible benefits to local residents and fostering a healthier environment. The installation generates high-impact stormwater retention credits and was completed in 2023.

Every dollar invested to build the green infrastructure at Faith United Church returns $8.3 in benefits to the community

This project will go a long way in stabilizing relationships with the community.
